Committee to Address Environmental Issues
At its June 27th meeting, the Church Council authorized formation of an ad hoc committee to address environmental issues. As proposed, the committee has four purposes:
1. Work toward adding "stewardshp of the earth" to the values and goals section of the Church mission statement.
2. Develop and implement ways for the Church to become more environmentally responsible, including recycling and being an earth-friendly consumer.
3. Educate the congregation about these issues and how each of us can contribute to caring for God’s creation.
4. Review and take advantage of materials and guidelines created as a result of the UCC resolution "Call for Environmental Education and Action" which was passed by the General Synod last summer. This new committee needs help! If you are interested, please contact Shelley Harms, 542-1657, harmstorrey@comcast.net
